Faith in Action Mission Outreach — Who We Are and What we Do (All By His Grace)

Faith in Action Mission Outreach is a small mission presently consisting of one American missionary — myself, David Matthews —  a bunch of local workers, and one big God who has and is doing amazing things.

Sent by the Lord Jesus to the province of Albay in the Bicol region of Luzon Island (just one province from the southern tip), my ministry over the first 17 years consisted of being part of Gods’s work in starting three churches and a variety of other ministries on two small islands, (San Miguel and Cagraray).

In the past two years the Lord has led me to turn over the churches on these islands and shift my primary work to Legazpi City (about 1 1/2 hours away on the mainland.  Here I am involved primarily with student ministry at Bicol University with an organization we call Aletheian Student Circle (ASC), as well as planting a nearby church called Generation Christian Fellowship (GenCF).  The goal of both is,through God’s grace, to serve as God’s instrument in His desire to reach out to the lost and to help them get established as strong disciples in a local church.

Although the work in Legazpi is now my primary work, I continue to stay involved in the island ministries on San Miguel and Cagraray Islands where we continue to run a low-power FM radio ministry, a Christian campsite, and a limited livelihood program in support of the three churches there.  The ministry there continues to be funded almost completely by Faith in Action funds, as the people are generally too poor to cover the work there.

The Lord is amazing and has done so many amazing things over the years.  It is truly His work and I count it a huge privilege to be offered by Him the chance to work with Him.

To God be the glory!
